چکیده
The rapid recovery of the Winchcombe meteorite offers a valuable opportunity to study soluble organic matter (SOM) profile in pristine carbonaceous astromaterials. Our interests biologically relevant molecules, amino acids—monomers protein, and most prevalent meteoritic organics—polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are addressed by analyzing solvent extracts stone using gas chromatography mass spectrometry. sample contains an acid abundance ~1132 parts-per-billion that is about 10 times lower than other CM2 meteorites. detection terrestrially rare acids, including α-aminoisobutyric (AIB); isovaline; β-alanine; α-, β-, γ-amino-n-butyric acids; 5-aminopentanoic acid, racemic enantiomeric ratios (D/L = 1) observed for alanine isovaline indicate these acids indigenous not terrestrial contaminants. presence predominantly α-AIB consistent with their formation via Strecker-cyanohydrin synthetic pathway. L-enantiomeric excesses previously aqueously altered meteorites were viewed as indicator parent body aqueous processing; thus, ratio Winchcombe, alongside overall high free:total ratio, low concentration suggest analyzed derived from lithology has experienced brief episode(s) alteration. also 2- 6-ring alkylated nonalkylated PAHs. total PAHs (6177 ppb) nonalkylated:alkylated distinct heavily CMs. weak petrographic properties well discrepancies SOM content—a comparable CMs, yet PAH on par less CMs—suggest could represent class weak, poorly lithified been studied.

Characterization of elemental and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compositions of the urban air in Brisbane
Characterization of the elemental and PAHs compositions of urban air was undertaken at three major sites in Brisbane, Australia. 17 elements and 16 US EPA priority PAHs were quantified at the sites. The most commonly detected elements in the TSP and PM2.5 fractions were Al, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Mo, Si, Sn, Sr and Zn. Compared to the two other sites, PM2.5 was found to contain higher concentr...
متن کاملThe amino acid composition of the Sutter’s Mill CM2 carbonaceous chondrite
We determined the abundances and enantiomeric compositions of amino acids in Sutter’s Mill fragment #2 (designated SM2) recovered prior to heavy rains that fell April 25–26, 2012, and two other meteorite fragments, SM12 and SM51, that were recovered postrain. We also determined the abundance, enantiomeric, and isotopic compositions of amino acids in soil from the recovery site of fragment SM51....

Context. This is the fourth in a series of papers based on the ISOCAM Parallel Survey at 6.7 μm. While the first three papers have been devoted to active galactic nuclei (AGN), here we report on emission-line galaxies without AGN signatures in their optical spectra. Aims. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) emission has been found in both starbursts and modestly starforming galaxies, but the ...

Biological effects of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon derivatives.
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are included in various environmental pollutants such as airborne particles and have been reported to induce a variety of toxic effects. On the other hand, PAH derivatives are generated from PAHs both through chemical reaction in the atmosphere and metabolism in the body.PAH derivatives have become known for their specific toxicities such as estrogenic/an...
